The all-new YZF-R6 isn’t a race replica, it’s a racer, developed at racetracks, honed to perfection with the knowledge we’ve learned from our successes in MotoGP, World Superbike and World Super sport racing. The R6 screams tech-savvy in many ways, but is best known for Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T), the first motorcycle to have one, and Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake (YCC-I). The advanced Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle provides “flawless response under all conditions,” and the Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake varies “intake tract length for excellent cylinder filling and a broader power band.”
This latest and greatest R6 features performance never before available in a 600 – 130 horsepower at 14,500rpm – and technology you won’t find on any other supersport bike – its radical Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T) is the biggest breakthrough for throttle control in decades. This is 2,000 rpm higher than the previous R6 model and was the highest tachometer redline of any 2006 production four-stroke motorcycle engine. the 2006 YZF-R6’s motor did not actually have this engine rpm redline level and was closer to around 16,200 rpm, but because of a deliberate tachometer error of about 8%, it read 17,500 rpm on the tachometer.4-Stroke engine, Electric Starter are its important features.
